Moxey Farms, also known as Australian Fresh Milk Holdings (AFMH), is one of the largest dairies in Australia. With operations and state-of-the-art facilities spread across four farms in New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria (VIC), they are committed to producing high-quality milk. Besides dairy production, the farms cultivate various crops, including corn, cereal, and lucerne, to feed their dairy herd.
A significant challenge for Moxey Farms was managing fuel usage efficiently across their diverse operations. The farms required four mobile fuel units equipped with advanced fuel management systems to accurately track fuel consumption for each asset.
The solution
To align with AFMH’s core values and commitment to environmental stewardship and operational efficiency, the decision was made to opt for self-bunded diesel trailers over poly diesel trailers. Moxey Farms specifically required 1,200 litre diesel trailers with mechanical brakes to ensure compatibility with their towing vehicles. As the pump box of the trailer was much smaller, Durotank redesigned the usual pump bay layout to accommodate not only the standard pump, filter, meter, and hose reel but also a Smart Fill Fuel Management System to track fuel consumption.
Being an Australian-made company, Durotank has the flexibility to make modifications before finalising the welding, painting, and assembly of the tanks. This capability was essential for meeting the specific needs of Moxey Farms and ensuring the trailers were fully equipped to handle their fuel management requirements.
