Corrie Vale Pastoral company is located close to Cowra in the Riverina agricultural region of New South Wales. The owner Malcolm breeds dairy cattle whilst growing crops to feed his livestock. Malcolm initially approached Durotank to discuss supply options for an aviation fuel tank for his aeroplane. After visiting the facility and seeing firsthand the quality of manufacturing of fuel tanks and trailers, he expanded his requirements over the year to encompass complete fuel storage solutions for his pastoral company.
Aviation fuel storage solutions
Before purchasing aviation fuel storage, Malcolm was keen to inspect the fuel tanks and facilities for quality assurance. For the aviation unit, safety was of principle concern due to the flammability of aviation fuel. Our Self Bunded Smart cube with a customised stainless steel inside and single door pump cabinet, ticked all the boxes. All pumps and accessory options are approved for aviation requirements and equipped with the appropriate safety signage as standard.
The cube was delivered ahead of time and met all the aviation requirements. Thrilled with the outcome, Malcolm returned to Durotank to find a reliable refuelling solution for his diesel trucks and farming equipment.
Diesel self bunded smart tank
For the farm, the fuel tank needed to be easy to operate and lockable. After consultation the Durotank team came up with a refuelling solution that was fit-for-purpose and economical. The 33,000L Self Bunded Smart tank was selected as it provided the greatest value dollar per litre refuelling value. This tank allowed Malcolm to get discounted fuel prices from his supplier which further improved the value offering. The tank was paired with a 240v pump and hose reel, allowing for easy refuelling options for trucks and machinery. To fulfill security requirements a lockable cabinet was also added.
Fuel trailer
To operate efficiencies in harvest and sowing seasons, Malcolm approached Durotank about a reliable fuel trailer that would maximise his tractors operating capabilities. Whilst Poly Diesel trailers are often the trailer of choice for agriculture, after understanding the scale of requirements, the team recommended the 1,200L Durotanker self bunded trailer. This fuel trailer offered a robust solution with longstanding durability and was ideally suited for towing vehicles on the farm.

To complete the suite, Corrie Vale were interested in sourcing a reliable water storage solution that could assist during fire season whilst operating across different agricultural terrains. The 1,200L Poly Water trailer was a clear choice featuring adequate water cartage coupled with a mechanical braking system which allowed it to be easily towed by any vehicle on the farm. This unit was paired with a fire-hose reel and batter spray kits for dust suppression.
Outcome

Our property, Duxton Farm, borders the Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory. Because of this, early season burning is extremely important to prevent uncontrollable bushfires later in the dry season. The trailer has been an invaluable asset to fire control – always full and ready to go when the call comes.
We’ve found it to be well balanced, empty or full, with the baffle ball system effectively controlling surge. We have had no issues with set-up, towing it with either a Landcruiser or Hilux.
