Duro Cubes for the Defence Force
Having reliable, transportable fuel supplies is essential for the Defence Force. Often based in remote or inaccessible locations or across different sites, Defence consistently requires versatile and flexible fuel storage solutions. They contacted the team at Durotank to work out what could best meet their diverse needs and be achieved in a tight turnaround.
The Defence Force was on the hunt for smaller storage fuel units that could be lifted by helicopter and moved around from site to site. The units needed to be safe to transport whilst full, durable and heavy duty but still weigh under a certain limit so they could be airlifted.
The Duro Cube ticked all the boxes. Built to be transported whilst full, their baffle ensures stability of liquid, whilst their bent wall design provides added strength and durability. Cubes are fully self bunded and feature certified full load lifting brackets. Rather than the standard white Duro Cube, the Defence Force requested Cubes to be painted in camouflage paint specifications. With all products 100% Australian made and manufactured, Duro Cubes could be custom painted on build, rather than having to strip off the initial paint covering and repaint as would be required for imported tanks. This offered another time and cost saver to the project.
The Defence forces required 6 x 1,000L Duro Cubes in total, including the first 2 units within 4 weeks. With all manufacturing on-site, the team were able to ramp up and turn around production to deliver all 6 units within a 4 week timeframe. The Defence forces were thrilled with the time to delivery and the outstanding quality of the new camouflaged Duro Cubes.
