Custom Self Bunded Fuel Tanks for Valentine Control Services
Valentine Control Services (VCS) specialise in the provision of engineering and control systems for fuel services, hazardous installs and maintenance. Based in Northern NSW, they service Newcastle, North West and Northern NSW regions whilst their instrument product range is available for delivery Australia-wide. VCS got in touch with Durotank to find a solution to their refuelling and fuel storage needs. Primarily they were looking to replace their existing tanks with new tanks that would offer greater capacity whilst still occupying the same footprint on-site.
Rod at VCS wanted to be able to store at least 80,000L of fuel on-site in the same space the current tanks were situated. This presented a potential problem for Durotank as their standard 80,000L self bunded fuel tank was too large to fit in the existing space. To counteract this issue, Durotank suggested replacing tanks with their 33,000L and 50,000L Smart tanks and connecting them at the site to offer the added capacity.
However, Rod felt they still needed greater fuel storage capacity. VCS proposed that Durotank drop off pump bays to offer further capacity without requiring additional space. Being Australian made and manufactured, Durotank could accommodate this idea without an issue. The proposed solution would mean over 80,000L of bulk fuel would be available on-site through the build of a 33,000L Smart tank with no pump alongside a 50,000L safe fill tank.
Rod and the team at VCS were happy with the innovative plan that would enable their project to come to fruition. Durotank provided the tanks accordingly whilst Rod and his team installed the tanks in the exact location and connected the pipework from the locomotives refuelling point, pairing it with a Smartfill fuel management system for reliable accurate fuel tracking.
Strong communication coupled with the ability to adapt and customise products ensured that Durotank achieved the exact fuel storage system that Valentine Control Services wanted. The team at VCS were thrilled with the outcome.
